A practical tool I wanted to keep using.

I’m a single developer who built this calculator because I wanted a useful tool I could return to for my own material conversions. I care most about accuracy and ease of use: show the units, make the assumptions visible, and keep the calculation easy to check.

Converting a pile of material into a weight depends on its density. That is why this tool lets you edit the density and record the product details, instead of treating every cubic yard as the same number of tons.
